Whether you’re flying, maintaining, or in a support role, an aviation job with the Army means you’ll work closely with our impressive fleet of helicopters, from the Black Hawk and Chinook to the ARH Tiger and our latest aircraft, the MRH-90.
Whatever role you take, you’ll contribute to vital operations, from reconnaissance to rescue missions to disaster-relief and combat support.
The Army provides world-class training for all Aviation roles. Officer training takes place at Royal Military College Duntroon, ACT (and can be preceded by a degree course at the Australian Defence Force Academy). Soldiers take an initial 80-day course at Kapooka, NSW before being trained in their specific trade or profession; acquiring sought-after qualifications as they go. Aspiring Army pilots undergo rigorous flight training involving many more flying hours than civilian program.
