Get paid to acquire skills

Every member of the Army gets paid to train, including trade apprentices. The package you receive (which includes various allowances) will depend on what stage you're at and which education scheme (if any) you are studying under. For example:

Recruit

$47,020 p.a. 12 months post initial training

Soldier

$48,990 - $55,762 p.a. after employment training

General service officer

$60,443 p.a. post graduation

Undergraduate

$31,215 p.a. (in first year of four years) to $48,242 p.a. (in final year of study)

Graduate (Medical)

$60,443 p.a. (in first year) to $71,848 p.a. (during internment)
